Florence Margaret GREN

GREN, Florence Margaret -- Age 94, of Fenton, died January 21, 2011 at her residence. Funeral services will be 11 AM Thursday, January 27 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton (810-629-9321) Pastor Ben Walls officiating. Interment in Glen Eden Memorial Park, Livonia. Visitation will be 1-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Florence was born October 17, 1916 in Walkerville, Ontario, Canada, the daughter of William and Hazel Campbell. She moved from Walkerville to Detroit at age 10 with her mother. Florence married Edward Gren on October 31, 1935 in Detroit and they settled in Redford Township. They had three children Gail, Edward, and Janice. They built their home in Redford Township, and two cottages on Black Lake. They were soulmates and truly in love, they never went anywhere without going together. Regrettably Edward died at age 58, shortly after retirement in 1971. She was a Sunday School teacher at Grace Lutheran in Redford Twp. for 20 years. Florence moved to Howell in 1975 and lived there for 34 years with her daughter Janice. She was a soft spoken, easy going person who spent her life more concerned about others than herself. She was a great role model who made you feel right at home and part of the family the moment you met her. She loved to travel going on numerous trips with family members. She enjoyed her cottages up north. Florence is survived by her son Edward and wife Cheryl; nine grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward; and daughters Gail Angelosanto and Janice Matichak. Tributes may be shared on the obituaries page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
