Fay Luella Holmes

HOLMES, Fay Luella - Age 91, of Swartz Creek, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2025. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Monday, January 20, 2025 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek (The service will be live streamed and can be viewed via Fay's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com). Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sunday from 4-8 PM and Monday from 12:00 PM until the time of the service. Fay was born August 14, 1933 in Flint, the daughter of Charles Ellis and Mary Pauline (Abbott) Ziy. She was a 1952 graduate of Dye High School. She married Richard Lloyd Holmes July 25, 1952 in Flint and he preceded her in death March 27, 1999. She had resided in the Swartz Creek area her entire life. Fay enjoyed working in the yard, being a mom and grandmother, entertaining friends and family, attending functions at school for her grandchildren, sharing over the years good times with special friends from her school days at Dye High School, family camping trips and traveling. 

Surviving are: her children, Richard Lloyd "Rick" (Sharon) Holmes, Jr. of Conroe, TX, Steven Allan (Gail) Holmes of Millington, Tamara Fay (Mark) Parenteau of Swartz Creek and Terry Lee (Tina) Holmes of Naples, FL; and 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mary Ziy; and an infant sister. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
