Evelyn Yates

YATES, Evelyn E.- Age 85, of Grand Blanc, died Tuesday September 27, 2016. Funeral services will be held 11:00AM Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Sharp Funeral Homes & Cremation Center 6063 Fenton Rd. Flint. Visitation will be held 10:00AM until the time of service. Pastor Jon Gildner will be officiating. Evelyn was born July 31, 1931 in Flint, the daughter of Lawrence and Zella (Thompson) Thomas. She married Chester W. Yates Sr. in Flint at Lincoln Park Methodist Church on February 25, 1950. They were " snow birds" loved the Manatee RV. Park in Ruskin Florida. Evelyn was a member of Halsey United Methodist Church and the Davison Moose Lodge. She enjoyed painting, crocheting, cooking, and travel. Surviving are her sons, Jack (Cheryl), Dean (Claudia) Yates; daughter-in-law, Mary Yates; four grandchildren, Meredith (Mark) Boulay, Bryan (Emily) Yates, Philip (Beth) Yates, David (Suzy) Yates; eight great- grandchildren, Ethan, Claire, Joceline, Levi, Luke, William, Johnny, Isaac.
