Evelyn Sunde

Sunde, Evelyn, 85, of Flint Township, died peacefully surrounded by her family on October 21, 2015, at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Service will be held 11AM Saturday, October 24 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Interment at Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be held 5-8 PM Thursday, and 2-8 PM Friday at the funeral home. Visitation will also be from 10 AM until time of service on Saturday. Evelyn was born July 9, 1930, in Howell, Michigan, the daughter of Harry and M. Ruth Miller. She married Martin Cranston of Howell in December 1948 and was widowed in 1953. She married Gilbert Sunde of Flint Township in 1956. Surviving are daughter, Marta Oginsky; son Brian (Diane) Sunde; daughter, Lisa (John) Maxwell; and daughter, Laura (Rick) Palmer. She leaves 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Merrick Sunde; brother, William Miller; sister, Doris Abbott; and sister-in-law, Mary E. (Betty) Mossman. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, Genesee County Humane Society, CS Mott Children's Hospital Pediatric Oncology, or the charity of one's choice.
