Evelyn Marie Stender

STENDER, Evelyn Marie - Age 91 of Durand, died Friday, May 5, 2006 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 5 PM Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek with Rev. Jerry Stender officiating. Interment in Denton Township Cemetery in Prudenville. Visitation will be held from 1 PM until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Stender was born December 18, 1914 in Carthage, Missouri, the daughter of William and Maude (Hancock) Berkley. She married Wesley J. Stender on April 27, 1935, and he preceded her in death in 1980. She was employed at Universal Electric in Owosso where she retired in 1984 after 30 years of service. She was a member of Rebekah Lodge #79 in Owosso. Surviving are two sons; James and wife Carol, Rev. Jerry V. and wife Marlene all of Prudenville; 7 Grandchildren, 4 Great-Grandchildren.
