Evelyn Sue PAVLICA

October 31, 1941 — November 30, 2009

Pavlica, Evelyn S., lost her battle with cancer on November 30, 2009 while receiving last rites. Evelyn was born on October 31, 1941 to Frank and Helen Nemecek. She was a lifelong resident of Swartz Creek, Michigan. Evelyn was preceeded in death by her husband of 35 years, Patrick J. Pavlica Sr., her parents and a brother Jim Nemecek. Evelyn was employed by the Grand Trunk Railroad for 18 years. She had a passion for life and family. She enjoyed boating, traveling, tending to her flowers, gardens and taking care of her beloved animals. Surviving her in death are sons Patrick J. Pavlica Jr. and partner Alex Bryant of Houston, Texas, James Pavlica of Tallahassee, Florida, and daughter, Kelly Burke and husband Matthew of Pinckney, Michigan and a grandson, Joseph Burke of Pinckney Michigan. Also surviving are longtime companion, Martial Veins of Swartz Creek, Michigan and a brother Paul Nemecek of Mesick, Michigan. Visitation will held 2-8 p.m. Thursday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek where a rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Her mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, December 4, 2009 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Road, Swartz Creek with Rev Fr. Steven Mattson celebrant. Cremation will follow the mass with burial of cremated remains in the family plot at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the American Cancer Society, or St. Mary Catholic Church food pantry.
