Evelyn R. Parkhurst

PARKHURST, Evelyn R.- Age 88, of Flushing, died Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at Hyde Park Memory Impaired Home.  A memorial mass will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, January 8, 2005 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 2415 Bagley St., Flint.  Fr. Douglas Osborn celebrant.  Friends may visit with the family at the church from 10:00 AM until time of service Saturday.   Those desiring may make contributions to the Alzheimers Association.  Mrs. Parkhurst was born March 4, 1916 in Harrisville, the daughter of Albert and Frances (Quarters) Swales.  She married R. Donald Parkhurst, Sr. February 18, 1939 at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Flint, and he preceded her in death August 3, 1999.  She was a former member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church.  Surviving are:  3 sons, J. Michael and wife Sheran L. of Otisville, Richard J. and wife Janet L. of Swartz Creek, Matthew P. and wife Kathy L. of Lake City; 9 grandchildren, Kristina Parkhurst, Robin Parkhurst, Jennifer Parkhurst, Pamela (Daniel) Reid, Donald Parkhurst, Dwayne (Pamela) Parkhurst, Amy (Ken) Hobson, James (Carmen) Parkhurst, Andrew (Heather) Parkhurst; great grandchildren, Tori, Todd, Jerrod, Michael, Austin, Tyler, Wyatt, Shannon, Gabrielle; sister, Kathleen Etue of Arizona.  She was also preceded in death by her parents and son, Dr. Robert D. Parkhurst; 2 brothers, Albert and Russell Swales; 2 sisters, Geneva Cory and Laverne Boomhower.
