PARISH, Evelyn Ella - Age 92, of Swartz Creek, died Monday, January 5, 2015. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, January 9, 2015 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Pastor Jim Nelson officiating. Burial in Crestwood Memorial Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday from 1-4 and 6-9 PM and Friday from 12:00 PM until the time of service. Evelyn had a pure and giving heart. Those desiring can pay it forward to someone in need around them. (Something with Zucchini would be nice.) Evelyn was born February 6, 1922 in Ionia the daughter of Clayton and Minnie (Gackler) Clemens. She was a 1940 graduate of Prescott High School. She married Hilliard Edwin "Bamy" Parish September 10, 1949 in Flint and he preceded her in death June 15, 1970. Evelyn had resided in Swartz Creek since 1977 coming from Grand Blanc. She had been employed by El Rancho Restaurant for 21 1/2 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Swartz Creek. She was the loving mother to, Dale Parish (wife Therese) of South Branch, Sherry Spohn (husband Craig) of Swartz Creek, and Kathey Batey of Grand Rapids; she was the beloved grandmother of 8 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; also surviving are: sisters, Correan Meir of Rose City and Darlene and husband William Winslow of West Branch; brother, Junior and wife Marie Clemens of West Branch; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Gayle Stahl; sisters, Lillian Rhuehle and Lila Dunbar; brothers, Albert and Vern Clemens.
