Evelyn King

KING, Evelyn Zora - age 91, of Flint, died Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Wellbridge of Fenton. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11 AM Friday, February 10, 2017 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 2415 Bagley St. with Fr. Michael Williams celebrant. Interment will follow at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Thursday at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint. A scripture service will be held 7 PM Thursday evening at the funeral home. Visitation will also be held 10 AM - 11 AM Friday at the church. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Reverence Hospice. Mrs. King was born April 12, 1925 in Merrill, MI, the daughter of Louis and Mary (Madden) Williams and was a graduate of Flint Central High School. She married Lloyd Frederick King on April 14, 1945 and he preceded her in death on July 5, 2013. Mrs. King had worked at General Motors for 14 years and St. Joseph Hospital in Flint for 2 years. She was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church, St. Luke Altar Society, St. John Vianney Catholic Church, and UAW Local 659. She also volunteered at the North End Soup Kitchen and for funeral luncheons at St. Luke. Mrs. King was a very talented woodworker making rocking horses and trains. She wintered in Las Vegas, NV for 15 years with her husband and extended family. Surviving are: two children, Diane (Murray) Allen of Crestwood, KY and Timothy King of Flushing; daughter-in-law, Linda King of Davison; five grandchildren, Todd (Betsy) Allen, Chad King, Tonya (Richard) Michelson, Devin (Tricia) King, and Shawn King; six great-grandchildren, Chelsea Michelson, Jack Allen, Savannah Allen, Shayna Michelson, Connor King and Rayven King; three brothers, Elton Williams of Flint, Robert Williams of Swartz Creek, and Jack (Julie) Williams of Burton; sister, Margaret (Art) Straw of Birch Run; several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by: her son, Joseph King; sister, Lucille Harney; brother, Walter Williams; two sisters-in-law, Melita and Patricia Williams.
