Thank You, God, for little things HALL, Evelyn Dolores Shores  Age 92, of Swartz Creek, died Monday, April 17, 2006 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday, April 21, 2006 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Dr. Jerry Pitman officiating. Interment will follow at Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Wednesday and 2- 4 and 6-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home where a memorial service will be held under the auspices of Flint Chapter #138 O.E.S. at 7 PM Thursday at the funeral. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Heart Association, First Presbyterian Church of Flint, or the charity of ones choice. Evelyn was born July 11, 1913, the daughter of Clarence R. and Anna E. (Hall) Shores. She was a 1931 graduate of Flint Northern High School and had lived in Swartz Creek since 1945. She married James E. Hall on October 7, 1936 and he preceded her in death on January 16, 1956. Evelyn was employed as a stenographer at AC Spark Plug from 1942-1946 and was the first GM Parts employee to work at the Otterburn site with offices in a farm house in 1956. She retired from GM in 1978 after 22 years of service. Evelyn was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Flint where she was a Sunday School Teacher for 12 years and a member of the Womens Guild (Deborah Circle). She was a life member of the Flint Chapter #138 O.E.S. and McLaren Regional Medical Center Auxiliary. She was a member of the El Said Court #28 L.O.S. of N.A., Chevrolet Active Retirees, IBG Retirees, and Flint Northern High School Alumni Association. Evelyn was very active in philanthropy for many years and was on the Board of Directors of the Committee of Sponsors for Flint College and Cultural Development, Inc. She loved music, travel, sports and people. Surviving are: step-daughter, Bette Gwen and husband, James Jones, Jr. of Clinton Twp.; special sister, Norma Jean Ruessman of FL; sister-in-law, Nila Lee of Flint; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by: husband, James E. Hall; mother, Ann E. Goodwin; father and step-mother, Clarence and Winifred Shores; sister, Mona Mae (Shores) Carver; half-sister, Margaret Shores; inlaws, Earl and Pearl Hall.
