ZUNIGA, Eva, Age 82, of Lennon, passed away, July 5, 2023. A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated 11:00 AM Saturday, July 8, 2023 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church 4413 Morrish Rd. Swartz Creek. Fr. Louis Ekka Celebrant. Visitation 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM Friday July 7, 2023 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, and 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Saturday at Church. A Rosary will be prayed 7:00 PM Friday at the Funeral Home. Interment Mt. Rest Cemetery, St. Johns. Memorial Contributions in Eva's memory would be appreciated to Durand Senior Care and Rehab Activities Center.
Eva was born, March 3, 1941 in St. Johns, the daughter of Luciano and San Juana (Castillo) Garcia. She married Cecilo Zuniga, Jr. in Bannister, MI on October 28, 1961, he preceded her in death on October 7, 2004. Eva graduated from Ovid-Elsie High School. She later graduated from U of M -Flint with a Bachelors Degree in Social Work. Eva was a loving wife, and devoted mother. She was an outstanding homemaker who opened her home to her extended family and friends with love and generosity. Eva also assisted her husband in operating Pancho Construction Company for many years. Eva was a member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Swartz Creek. She was an amazing Cake Decorator. Eva loved spending time with her grandchildren and was an avid Bingo player.
Eva's family would like to thank the Care Team of the Durand Senior and Rehab Center and the good people at McLaren Hospital and McLaren Hospice for the loving and compassionate care provided to Eva.
Eva is survived by: her children, Cecilio (Tracy) Zuniga III, Vincent Zuniga, Mersed Zuniga, Eva (Dennis) Graham, and Krisanto (Autumn) Zuniga; grandchildren, Vincent, Jr., Arianna, Winter, Mersed, Jr., Kyler, Silverio, Mateo, Krisanto, II, and Goldyn; siblings, Mersed (Irene) Garcia, Robert (Francene) Garcia, and Christina Roldan; she is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Eva was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Cecilio Zuniga, Jr.; son, Mersed Pedro Zuniga; daughter-in-law, Julie Zuniga; and nine brothers and sisters. Online tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneraljomes.com.
