Eugene Leonard SZATKOWSKI

SZATKOWSKI, Eugene L., age 81, of Fenton, formerly of Centerline, passed away on Monday, November 30, 2009 at Avalon Hospice. Gene was the beloved husband of Elaine (McDonald). He was the loving father of Gene (Leanne) Szatkowski, Kathy (Roger) Benvenuti, Peggy (John) Zablocki, Karen (John) Lixie and Gary (Nancy) Szatkowski. He was a wonderful grandfather to Brandon, Matthew, Bradley, Patrick, Kenny, Kyle, Christine, Hannah, Joshua and Erin. He was the loving brother of Vicki (Dick) Hartshorn, John (Irene) Szatkowski, and the late Eleanore, Edward and Ernie. Gene was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Parish in Fenton where he loved singing in the choir and enjoyed the many friendships he made throughout the years at the parish. Gene was an amazing man who had a great love for life, family and friends. He will be deeply missed but his love will live within us forever. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 1PM Thursday, December 3, 2009 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton. Fr. Bosco Padamattummal celebrant. Interment at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be 2-9PM Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. A rosary will be prayed 8PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
