Eugene E. PETIPRIN

PETIPRIN, Eugene E., age 94, of Swartz Creek, passed away Saturday. March 7, 2009 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Eugene was born May 28, 1914 in Caro the son of the late Frank Petiprin and Pearl Corey. He married Alvera Klein on February 9, 1946 in Flint. Eugene was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served as a Sergeant during WWII in the Aleutian Islands. He was employed as a machinist by General Motors for 41 years until his retirement in 1975 and was an original sit-down striker at "Chevy-in-the-hole". He loved riding and repairing bicycles; enjoyed swimming at the YMCA; and found great joy in parades and county fairs. His greatest love was his family, as he was a wonderful father and loving husband. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Alvera; 4 children, James Petiprin (Amy), Dianne Carrier and Deborah, all of Swartz Creek, Carol Neelands (Rolland) of Truckee, CA; 4 grandchildren, Amy M., James P., Jaclyn, and Gordon; 7 great-grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30AM Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 7563 Mary St., Swartz Creek. Fr Steven Mattson celebrant. Interment at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8PM Sunday and Monday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. A rosary will be prayed at 7PM Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church.
