Eugene Patten

PATTEN, Eugene Frederick -- Age 89, of Swartz Creek, died September 22, 2016. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday September, 26 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Dr. Gary Glanville officiating. Visitation will be held 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to the Carriage Town Ministries. Eugene was born June 28, 1927 in Flint the son of Frederick Burton and Olive (Blair) Patten. He married Doris J. Whitehead in Swartz Creek on August 2, 1947. He graduated from Swartz Creek Mary Crapo High School in 1945. He retired from Fisher Body Plant No.1 in 1983 as a Tool Designer. Eugene was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving in WWII. He was a longtime member of the Swartz Creek United Methodist Church. He enjoyed gardening and was gifted at Macrame chairs. He is survived by his wife, Doris; 3 children, Larry E. (Leslie) Patten, Joanne R. (Dennis) White, Nora J. Patten; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Eileen Walt.
