FRAIDENBURG, Eugene A. 'Gene' - age 76, of Linden, died Monday, September 19, 2005 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral Services will be held 11 AM Friday, September 23, 2005 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Linden. Visitation will be held 5-9 PM Wednesday, 1-4 and 6-9 PM Thursday. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Linden VFW Price, Crane, Robinson Post 4642. Gene was born in Flint on November 23, 1928 and was a resident of Linden since 1973 coming from Flint Township. He married Francella 'Fran' Dunham on December 24, 1951 in Flint. He attended Flint Central and GMI. He served in the U.S. Army from July 1947 -  June 1952 and the Navy Reserve for four years. He served in Korea from June 1950 - October 1951 earning seven Bronze Stars and the Combat Infantry Badge. He retired from General Motors, Fisher Body in 1982 as a journeyman toolmaker. He was an officer for U.A.W. Local 1292 for 21 years and retired as vice chairman. He was past commander and life member of  V.F.W. Post 4642 of Linden. He was a life member of the V.F.W. National Home, Grand Blanc Huntman's Club, V.F.W. Commander Club and a member of the 5th R.C.T. Association. Gene was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting, golf, and being with his children and grandchildren. Surviving are: wife Fran; three children, Rick Fraidenburg and wife Donna of Linden, Valerie Eakett of Asheville, NC, Teresa Taylor and husband Dave of Linden; grandchildren, Jessica and husband Rob, Rebecca, Dustin, Dana, Adrian, Robert, and Morgan; great-grandchildren, Sean, Damian; step-grandchildren, David Eakett, Jason Taylor and wife Brandy; five step-great-grandchildren;  brother, Edward Fraidenburg and wife Phylis of Midland; sisters, June Smith and husband Don of Flint, Janet Tower of Tucson, AZ; several nieces; nephews; and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ninabelle (Shaft) and Adrain Lewis Fraidenburg; sister, Joan Koppit and husband Jim; step-grandson, Travis Taylor.
