Etta Mcclure

McCLURE, Etta Mae - age 86, formerly of Linden, died Sunday, July 1, 2018. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linden. Visitation will be held 6-8 PM Friday and 11 AM - 1 PM Saturday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association. Etta was born May 1, 1932 in Lansing, the daughter of Harold and Leonora (Heminger) Them. She married David L. McClure in 1952 and he preceded her in death in 1994. Mrs. McClure retired from Linden High School as a cafeteria aide and had worked as an operator with Michigan Bell for many years. She was a former member of First Baptist Church of Fenton. Etta enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, word searches and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. Surviving are: three children, Debra (Skip) Maxson of Frontier, MI, Sandra (Bryan) Jeans of Flint Township, and Scott (Michelle) McClure of Lewiston, ID; six grandchildren, Jason Lapham, Heather Brookshire, Renae (Anthony) Klinck, Tyler (Hillary) McClure, Kalli McClure, and Michael Griffis; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by: her parents; and two brothers, Harold and Earling Them. The family would like to thank her caregivers for their care the last six years.
