Ethel Marie VanBeest

VANBEEST, Ethel Marie - age 92, of Fenton, died May 5, 2024. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Thursday, May 9, 2024 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton, MI 48430. Burial will follow at Crestwood Cemetery in Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held from 1 PM - 6 PM Wednesday and from 10 AM - 11 AM Thursday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the National Kidney Foundation. Ethel was born November 9, 1931 in Minneapolis, MN, the daughter of Harold E. and Dorothy E. (Emerson) Potter. She married Henry VanBeest on September 10, 1949 and he preceded her in death on December 2, 1988. Ethel was a member of the Church of Christ in Grand Blanc and enjoyed crafting, knitting and crochet. She retired from K-Mart where she was a bookkeeper for many years. Surviving are: five children, Dick (Toni) VanBeest of Fenton, Vicki Jeffers of Fenton, Mary Hayes of Grand Blanc, Henry VanBeest, Jr. of Fenton, William (Nancy) VanBeest of Linden; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Janet Ward of Prescott, AZ; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Harold Potter; two sisters, Burdell O' Darrison and Leah Hieronimus; two sons-in-law, Michael Jeffers and Daniel Hayes.
