THOMPSON, Ethel Minnie  Age 85, of Grand Blanc, died Tuesday, September 30, 2003 at IHS at Riverbend. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Saturday, October 4, 2003 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd. (just south of Hill Rd.), Flint. Interment will be held at Elmwood Cemetery, New Lothrop. Visitation will be held 6-8:30 PM Thursday and 2-8:30 PM Friday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Recovery, Inc. or IHS Hospice. Mrs. Thompson was born June 21, 1918 in Midland, the daughter of Lester Levi and Elizabeth (Stevenson) Hoggard and resided in Saginaw for many years. She married Wendall Thompson in September of 1954 in Angola, IN and they made their home in New Lothrop. He preceded her in death on November 7, 1986. She then moved to Grand Blanc where she lived with her niece, Gertrude Huggard, who was a loyal caretaker visiting her daily after she moved into Riverbend. Mrs. Thompson loved her cat Whitey and she was a great storyteller and friend to everyone she met. She was loved and will be missed by: many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by: her parents; three brothers, John, Carl and Floyd Hoggard; sister, Mabel Bailey; nephew, Jackie Huggard.
