Esther Jaksa

JAKSA Esther Marie died August 12, 2022 at age 95 after an extended illness. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated by Fr. Anthony Strouse at 10AM Wednesday, August 17 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 706 Beach Street., Flint. Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Tuesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road Swartz Creek, where a Rosary will be prayed at 7PM followed by a Knights of Columbus memorial service.  Visitation will also be 9AM until time of Mass at the church. In Lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be made in Esther's name to the charity  of One's Choice.

Esther was born April 9, 1927 in Lowell, Massachusetts, youngest of four children born to Leon and Annie Delaney.  The family moved to Detroit when Esther was still a baby and then to Flint where Esther spent the rest of her life, along with Flint Township.  She attended St. Matthew School, graduating in 1944 and then was a student a Flint Junior College.  She was employed by Chevrolet Parts and services for about 15 years before resigning to raise a family.

Esther is survived by her husband, George Jaksa of 69 years, daughter, Mary Ann (Mark) Johnson of Flushing, MI; son, Dr. Joseph Jaksa of Birch Run, MI., In addition she leaves behind three grandchildren, Joseph Johnson of Flushing, MI, Jane Jaksa of Flushing, MI., and Samuel Jaksa of Providence, RI.  along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary (Sister Ann Miriam, SC) Delaney; brothers, John  (Jack and Phyllis) Delaney and Joseph (and Virginia) Delaney.
