WILLIAMS, Erta Marie  Age 95, of Fenton, died October 5, 2004 at Fenton Extended Care. Funeral Services will be held 11 AM Friday, October 8, 2004 at the Fenton United Methodist Church, 119 S. Leroy St., Fenton, Pastor Daniel Wallace officiating. Interment in Oakwood Cemetery, Fenton. Visitation will be held 3-5 and 7-9 PM Thursday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton; and 10 AM until the time of the service Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Ivan Williams Award at Fenton High School, or the Fenton United Methodist Church. Mrs. Williams was born May 26, 1909 in Dowagiac, MI, the daughter of Fred A. and Lena (Frost) Young. She graduated from Dowagiac High School and Western State Teachers College (now Western Michigan University.)  She taught in the Elementary Schools at Dowagiac for two years and as an art teacher for a year. She married Ivan F. Williams, former Fenton Coach and Athletic Director, in 1931 in Dowagiac. She taught Tot Lot and Handicraft classes for Summer Recreation in Fenton. She had resided in the Fenton area most of her life. She was a member of the Fenton United Methodist Church for 50 years, the Fenton O.E.S. Chapter 248, and former member of the Love Circle. Her life revolved around her family. Mrs. Williams was an artist, and wrote poetry and novels.  Surviving are: daughter, Janet and husband Hubert Hilferink of Marine City, MI; son, Ron and wife Nancy Williams of Fenton Township; grandchildren, Lynn and Terry Spencer, Karen McGregor, David McGregor, Cheri and Kevin Mann, Ann and Bill Griffin, Steve Hilferink, Mike and Diana Hilferink, Mike and Shelley Williams, Tim Williams, Brian Williams; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren.
