Ernest CAUTHEN

CAUTHEN, Ernest Jr. -- Age 89, of Flint Township, died December 6, 2010 at Crestmont Healthcare Center. Funeral Services will be 1 PM Wednesday, December 8 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miler Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Pastor Paul Ytterock officiating. Interment will be 2:30 PM Wednesday at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be 1-4 and 6-9 PM Tuesday, and 12 Noon until the time of the funeral Wednesday. Mr. Cauthen was born October 30, 1921 in Lancaster, SC, the son of Ernest and Dessie (Steele) Cauthen. He married Dorothy Wilson on December 23, 1954 in Flint. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He retired from GM in 1980 with 27 years of service. He had taught Sunday school. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Surviving are: wife Dorothy; four children, Barbara Cauthen of South Carolina, Linda Cauthen of Owosso, Ron and wife Tammy Cauthen of Ovid, Don and wife Vickie Cauthen of Flint; eight grandchildren, Benjamin, James, Leah and Elizabeth, Jordan, Tori and Malachi, and Steven.
