Erma Marie BEDELL

BEDELL, Erma Marie (Allen) - age 87, of Linden/Flint Township, went to Heaven to be with Jesus, her husband of 53 years, Edsel Adelbert Bedell and many loved ones and friends that have passed on before her Thursday, September 29, 2011 at the Fenton Extended Care Center. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, October 2, 2011 at Linden Free Methodist Church, 13274 South Linden Road, Linden. Pastor Bill Moull will officiate. Visitation will be held 1-4PM and 6-9PM Saturday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton, and 2:00 PM until the time of service Sunday at the church. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Linden. Those desiring may make contributions to the Linden Free Methodist Church. Erma was born June 6, 1924 in Rockford, the daughter of Clair W. and Anna Elizabeth (Helsel) Allen. She was a devoted Christian, a caring practical nurse prior to marriage and then a devoted wife and mother with a heart for world missions. She was a long time member of the Bethel Park and Linden Free Methodist Churches and a lifetime member of the Women's Christian Temperance Union. Erma was the beloved mother of 7, Elizabeth and LCDR. Daniel Hurd of Linden, Esther and Michael McKenna of Davison, Edwina and Rev. Robert Wright of Abilene, TX, Eldon and Jeannette Bedell of Flushing, Eva and Robert Andrews of Bettendorf, IA, Elwood and Lisa Bedell of Gaines and Elbert and Pam Bedell of Clarkston; grandmother of 22; great-grandmother of 23; sister-in-law, Iona Allen; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her brother, Arthur Allen of Westland. The family wishes to express their gratitude for loving care to Avalon Hospice, The American House of Grand Blanc and Fenton Extended Care Center.
