Emogene 'Jean' Hoy

HOY, Emogene Jean, age 80, of Swartz Creek, died Sunday, August 8, 2004 at Genesys Health Park.  Funeral Services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday August 11, 2004 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, Pastor Tom Knight officiating.  Interment in Swartz Creek Cemetery.  Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Michigan Basset Rescue or Great Lakes Hospice.  Mrs. Hoy was born January 3, 1924 in Hartville, MO, the daughter of Willie and Zella Opal (Garner) Saladin. She married Alton L. Hoy on December 5, 1945 in Flint and he preceded her in death on January 11, 1998.  She was a resident of Swartz Creek since 1959 and was a member of Faith Missionary Church and the Swartz Creek Senior Citizens Group.  Mrs. Hoy is survived by:  daughters Carla Burgdoff of Jackson, Dayna Whitehead and husband Mark of Jackson; granddaughters Carrie Fransted and husband Jeff of Jackson, Ashley Taylor of New York; two great granddaughters; one brother and one sister; several nieces and nephews including special niece Jackie Rhody and husband Jim, special nephew Ron Saladin and wife Cynthia.  Mrs. Hoy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, two sisters.  Friends may share an online  condolence or post a tribute for the family at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
