Emma Hobson

HOBSON, Emma - Age 95, of Flint Township, died Thursday, June 18, 2020.  Funeral services will be held 1 PM Thursday, June 25, 2020 at Faith Missionary Church, 1327 N. Elms Road, Flint.  Pastor Brent Kriesch and Pastor Thomas Knight  co officiating.  Visitation will be held at the church Thursday from 10:30 AM until the time of the service.  Private burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to Faith Missionary Church.

Emma was born August 9, 1924 in Durand, the daughter of Jacob and Margaret (Schmidt) Schreiber.  She married Allen Raymond Hobson February 16, 1946 in Flint and he preceded her in death December 2, 1988.  Earlier in her life she had worked for Feke & Yott.  She had resided in Flint Township since 1959.  Emma was a member of Faith Missionary Church.  She also was a member of the DAV Auxiliary and M.O.A.A.  She was a volunteer with the Red Cross at Flint Osteopathic Hospital.  She enjoyed flower arranging.

Surviving are: son, Allen (Mickey) Hobson; daughter, Sharon "Sherri" (Michael) Reynolds; grandchildren, David (Kara) Hobson, Jeff (Kelley) Hobson, and Chad (Jennifer) Reynolds; great granddaughters, Braeyanna and Mia Hobson; sister, Lydia LaClair; and sister-in-law, Sharon Schreiber; and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jacob, George, and John Schreiber; sisters, Marie Thompson, Elizabeth "Betty" Harvey, and Martha Lambertson. Tributes may be posted on the obituaries page of www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
