MATFEY, Emily A. - Age 92, of Fenton formerly of Detroit, died Friday, May 29, 2009. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 AM Monday, June 1, 2009 at the chapel of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Fr. David Harvey celebrant. Burial in St. John Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd, Fenton from 1-8 PM Sunday. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Surviving are: 3 children, Greg (Maureen) Matfey of Novi, Constance (Terry) James of North Carolina and Alice Hengstebeck; 6 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Cecilia Krench and Eva Patyna both of Dearborn. She was preceded by her parents, Joseph and Mary (Kurcz) Sroka; husband, Edward Matfey; grandson, Joseph Hengstenbeck. Online tributes may be posted at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
