Emily Jane Hulverson

January 22, 1923 — July 21, 2006

HULVERSON,  Emily Jane, age 83 of Fenton, died Friday, July 21, 2006 at Genesys Health Park.  Mrs. Hulverson was born in Lexington, Michigan on January 22, 1923 the daughter of Hazen and Eva (Locke) Surbrook and has lived in Genesee County for many years.  She and Louis Edgar Hulverson were married in Flint in June of 1941.  She had been a mail carrier out of the U.S. Post Office in Burton for 20 years, retiring in 1985.  She also was a former Avon Representative. Mrs. Hulverson was a member of the Great Lakes Baptist Temple the past 50 years. She belonged to the Hilltopers and had been a Sunday School teacher. She loved knitting,but most of all enjoyed her family and friends.  Surviving is her husband, Louis; her children; Richard (Irene) Hulverson of Gaines,daughter-in-law, Rebecca Hulverson of Clio, John (Terry) Hulverson of Burton, Larry (Jan)Hulverson of Millington and Barbara ((Alkitt) Gentry of Swartz Creek.Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren,  2 sisters; Delores Hooper of Deckerville, Mi and Jeanette Burch of Croswell, Mi. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Harold, brother Hazen, sister Evelyn and her step-mother, Pearl. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, July 24, 2006 at the Great Lakes Baptist Temple, 2112 E. Maple Rd.  Pastor Ted Wille will officiate and burial will be at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd. (Just South of Hill Rd.) Sunday from 1:00 to 9:00 P.M.and Monday at the church from 11:00 A.M.until service time.  Memorial gifts in Mrs. Hulverson's name are being accepted to the Great Lakes Baptist Church for Missions.
