Elwood Thomas CORRELL

CORRELL, Elwood Thomas "Woody" - age 80, of Flint, died Saturday, October 15, 2011. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Grace Lutheran Church, 2526 Corunna Rd., Flint. Pastor Dennis Himm will officiate. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 1:00 - 8:00 PM at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek and from 10:00 AM until the time of service Wednesday at the church. Those desiring may make contributions to Grace Lutheran Church. Woody was born March 12, 1931 in Flint, the son of Otto E. and Eunice S. (Robinson) Correll and was a 1949 graduate of Central High School. He married to Wilma Jean Carlson on August 23, 1952 and she preceded him in death on July 1, 2011. Woody retired from AC Spark Plug in 1992 after 42 years of service. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. Woody was very active in his church and enjoyed bowling, golfing, swimming, playing pool and traveling with family and friends. He always looked forward to breakfast and lunch with his church and work friends. Surviving are: daughters, Karen Jean Correll and Kim Renee Carpenter; grandchildren, Karie Scofield and Steven Scofield; sister, Peggy Laurent; special nieces, Joanne (Bob) Keeler and Nancy Proffer; many other nieces and nephews.
