POLZIN, Elsie L., age 90, a resident of Davison, died Saturday, January 16, 2010 at the Genesys Convalescent Center. Mrs. Polzin was born September 22, 1919 in Kansas City, Missouri the daughter of James and Grace (Holsinger) Hartl. She has been a Flint area resident for many years having worked during W.W. II at the A.C. Spark Plug Division and at the McDonald-Douglas Aircraft Plant. She also worked later at the Davison School District as a playground attendant. Mrs. Polzin was married to Harold A. Polzin, a decorated WW II war hero who was awarded many medals including the Purple Heart He preceded her in death in 1990. She was a long time devoted member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Davison. Surviving are her three sons: James H. Polzin of Flint with Patricia, Albert W. Polzin (Janet) of Davison and Richard J. Polzin (Sharon) of Sudbury, MA. Also surviving is a grandson, Albert W. Polzin, Jr. of Stoughton MA, a granddaughter, Melissa Yerke of Boulder, Colorado and a great grandson, Ryan Yerke. Mrs. Polzin was also preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 22, 2010 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton St., Davison. Rev. Fr. George Puraidam MSFS will officiate with burial to follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation at the Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Grand Blanc Twp. will be Thursday, from 1 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. with a scripture service at7:00P.M. Mrs. Polzin will be in state Friday at the church from 10:00 A.M. to the time of the Mass.
