FERGUSON, Elsie Mae - Age 80, of Fenton, died Sunday, September 21, 2008 at Genesys Hospice Care Center. Services will be held 5 PM Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at South Flint Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1467 E. Maple Ave., Burton. Pastor Melvin Santos will officiate. The family will receive friends from 4 PM until the time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to Genesys Hospice. Elsie was born November 9, 1927 in Gladwin, the daughter of Ross and Lorentine Frances (Taylor) Salyer. She was married to Donald Ferguson on August 21, 1948; he preceded her in death on June 27, 1975. Mrs. Ferguson lived in the Flint/Fenton area most of her life and was a member of South Flint Seventh Day Adventist Church. Surviving are: children, Douglas Ferguson of Fenton, Penny (Andy) Polston of Colorado, Patricia (Daniel) Roux of Fenton, Donald (Krista) Ferguson of Florida, Danielle (Richard) Starr of Clio, Corrine Ferguson (Dennis) of Colorado; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; sister, June Elias of Grand Rapids; brother, Warren (Jan) Oliver of Tennessee; sister, Dixie Isbell of Burton; brother, Dana (Colene) Snowden of Fenton; sister-in-law, Alice Salyer; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Gabriel of Florida; nieces and nephews; special friends, Gladys, Jane and Mary; special pets, Winnie and Deliah. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandsons, Jeffrey Verhelle and Kurt Kohlman; great-grandson, William Ferguson; brother, Ross Salyer.
