Elmo Terry

TERRY, Elmo Delbert Mick of Fenton, age 79, died on December 2, 2008 at his home. A funeral mass will be held Saturday at 10 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Fenton, Fr. David Harvey celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton on Friday from 2-5 PM and 6-8 PM with a vigil service at 7:00 PM. Mick was born in Flint on January 16, 1929 to Hazen and Della (Reynolds) Terry. He graduated from Linden High School and worked for 41 years at Buick #17. He retired in 1988. He married Cecelia (Colburn) in 1949. He was a member of the American Legion Drum & Bugle Corp. He was a past member of the Fenton Jaycees, an active member of St. John Church and he enjoyed coaching Fenton Little League Baseball. Mick is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Cecelia; son Michael, daughter Julie and husband Clyde Dunlap; grandchildren Michael and wife Jennifer Terry, James and wife Kate Terry, Gregory Ewing; step-grandchildren Becky and Scott Elliot, Anthony Dunlap; great-grandchildren Bryan, Steven and Olivia Terry; uncle and aunt Jerry and Ann Palmer and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister and brother-in-law Betty and Wes Darling. Contributions may be made to the Loose Senior Center or the G.I.F.T. Campaign at St. John Church.
