VINCENT, Elmer L. -- Age 82, of Swartz Creek, died April 11, 2015. Funeral services will be held 1PM Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Pastor Lawrence Gill officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery, Owosso. Visitation will take place from 2-4 and 6-9PM Friday, and from 12PM until the time of service Saturday. An American Legion Service being held at 7PM Friday night. Those desiring may make contributions to Swartz Creek American Legion, Swartz Creek AmVets or War Dogs Making It Home. Elmer was born January 9, 1933 the son of Elmer and Clarinda (Burnham) Vincent in Swartz Creek. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served in the Korean War. Elmer married Barbara Jean (Burgess) Sweeney on September 28, 1985 in Flint. Mr. Vincent was and electrician and retired from General Motors after 30 years. Elmer was and avid fisherman and hunter. He was an active member of the Swartz Creek American Legion and the Swartz Creek AmVets. Surviving are: his loving wife, Barbara J. Vincent of Swartz Creek; children, Susan (Larry) Gehl of Davison, Nancy Ulrich of Ft. Wayne, IN, Michael (Karen) Vincent of Swartz Creek, Stephen (Kathryn) Vincent of Clio; step-sons, Patrick Sweeney of Swartz Creek, Barry Sweeney of Swartz Creek, Dennis (Shari) Sweeney of Swartz Creek; 8 grand children, Christopher Ulrich, Teresa Ulrich, Stacey Brooks, Roxanne Shively, Jennifer Vincent, Alexander Vincent, Adam Vincent, Amanda VIncent; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters, Frances Welch, Shirley Beckwith and Arlene Myers; many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Preceded in death by: first wife, Marilyn; 2 children, Judy Ann Vincent and Danny J. Vincent; siblings, John Vincent, Mary Morton, Elaine Sheldon-Pearson, Lawrence Vincent, and Richard Vincent.
