SCHROEDER, Ellen Martha -- Age 96, of Fenton, died Saturday, January 10, 2004 at her residence. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 12 Noon Tuesday, January 13, 2004 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Fenton, Rev. Fr. David Harvey celebrant. Interment in St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-9 PM Monday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., with a Vigil service at 7 PM. Those desiring may make contributions to St. John G.I.F.T. Campaign or McLaren Visiting Nurses and Hospice, Lapeer. Mrs. Schroeder was born April 24, 1907 in Tyrone Township the daughter of Patrick and Loretta (Hogan) O'Connell. She married Irvin F. Schroeder on June 30, 1937 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Deerfield Township. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Surviving are: husband Irvin F.; 8 children, Pat and wife Karen of Fenton, Sister Loretta I.H.M. of Detroit, Margaret and husband Jim Bacon, John and wife Bonnie, Jane and husband Ron Wingblad, all of Fenton, Mary and husband Errol Remsing of Wamego, KS, Michael and wife Robin, Tom and wife Maggie, all of Fenton; 16 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy and husband Bill Lepczyk of East Lansing; brother, Pat and wife Betty O'Connell of Fenton; brother-in-law, Ace Whitehead of TX; sister-in-law, Cecile O'Connell of NJ; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Schroeder was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters, Mary VanMarcke and Roseanne Whitehead; and 2 brothers, Francis and Leo O'Connell.
