Elizabeth "Bette" Woggermon

WOGGERMON, Elizabeth Jane "Bette"- Age 80, of Swartz Creek, died Saturday, January 26, 2008 at her residence.  Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek.  Burial immediately following at Sunset Hills Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 6-9 PM Monday, where a American Legion Memorial service will be held a 7:00 PM and 1-4 and 6-9 PM Tuesday.  In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to the American Lung Association.  Bette was born November 6, 1927 in Royal Oak, the daughter of Peter John and Mayme Irene (Stiff) Morrison.  She was a graduate of Royal Oak High School were she won the best female athlete; a medal that is still given out today in her name.  She married Harold A. Woggermon January 27, 1951 in Royal Oak and he preceded her in death August 24, 1986.  She had been employed by Michigan Bell as a Communications Supervisor prior to raising her family.  She was a member and past president of the Swartz Creek American Legion Auxillary Post #294, the Past President Club, Blue Star Mothers of America Gilbert Oxley Chapter #7, 8/40, Swartz Creek V.F.W. Auxillary Post 3720, Swartz Creek Senior Center; she also a life member and past president of the Ladies Allstar Bowling League and the Bowling 600 Club.  She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, reading and riding bikes with her family and friends.  Surviving are: 4 children, Mark Woggermon of Burton, Steven and wife Doreen Woggermon of Swartz Creek, Charles Woggermon of Flint, Virginia and husband Dave Rowan of Virginia; 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; brother, Richard Morrison of Madison Heights; sister, Doris Jones of Detroit; many nieces and nephews.  She was also preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers, Donald, Charles and Peter Morrison; sister, Joan Wentworth; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Gladys and Delbert Priest.  Online condolences and tributes may be posted on the obituaries page of www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
