RYAN, Elizabeth M. "Betty" (Takacs) - Age 86, of Linden, died Sunday, May 15, 2016. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St, Fenton. Fr. David Harvey celebrant. Burial in St. John Catholic Church, Fenton. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden Tuesday from 1-4 and 6-8 PM and at church Wednesday from 12:00 PM until the time of the Mass. A Rosary will be prayed 7:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to St. John Educational Foundation. Mrs. Ryan was born July 26, 1929 in Flint the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth (Kader) Takacs. She was a 1947 graduate of All Saints Catholic High School. She married Maurice C. Ryan August 22, 1953 in Flint and he preceded her in death November 5, 2012. Mrs. Ryan was a very active member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She also was involved in Boy Scouts for many years. Surviving are: 4 sons, Maurice and wife Cynthia of Linden, Joseph and wife Pamela of Fenton, Timothy and wife Dawn of Gaines, and Michael of New Baltimore; 6 grandchildren, Sean, Danielle (husband, Michael Grenzicki), Jennifer, Daniel, Caila, and Jessica; siblings, Mary Ann and husband Eugene Kovacs of Burton, Frank Takacs of Clio, Barbara and husband Al Ogorek of Grand Blanc, Dolores and husband Ray Peltier formerly of Flint, Edward Takacs of Oakley, Bernadette Klimes of Grand Blanc, and Julianna and husband Mike Fortune; sister-in-law, Sandra Takacs of Fenton; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was also preceded in death by her parents; sons, Thomas and John Ryan; and brother, Elmer Takacs. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff at Monet House at Caretel Inns of Linden.
