PIERCE, Elizabeth Tremaine 'Betty'- Age 101, of Fenton, died Monday, February 14, 2005 at Crestmont Health Care Facility. Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, February 18, 2005 at St. Judes Episcopal Church, 106 E. Elizabeth St., Fenton. The Reverend Leslie Harding officiating. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes; Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton from 7-9 PM Wednesday, 2-4 and 7-9 PM Thursday and at the church from 10 AM until time of service Friday. Those desiring may make contributions to St. Judes Episcopal Church or Interlochen Arts Camp. Mrs. Pierce was born June 5, 1903 in Westfield, New Jersey, the daughter of C. Milton. and Elizabeth (Lord) Tremaine. She was a graduate of Bradford Academy in 1924, Connecticut College in 1927 were she received a bachelors of Art and Parsons School of Design in 1930 She married William Neil Pierce May 20, 1933 in Westfield, NJ, and he preceded her in death November 19, 1977. She had resided in Fenton the past 17 years, coming from Westfield, NJ where she had lived for 84 years. She was a member of St. Jude Episcopal Church were she was active in the Vestry and ECW and she was chairperson of the VGs Community Share Fund Raiser. Her father, C. Milton. Tremaine founded National Music Week and was the founding Treasurer of Interlochen Arts Camp. Surviving are: son, Retired Lt. Col. U.S.A.F. William N., Jr. and wife Nancy Pierce of Bellevue, NE; daughter, Marion 'Peri' and husband Victor Hart of Salem, SC; 4 grandchildren, Major U.S.A.F. William N. III and wife Amanda Pierce of Japan, The Reverends Kevin V. and wife Suzanne Hart of Three Bridges, NJ, Kaelee T. and husband Eric VanCamp of Fenton, Tech Sgt. U.S.A.F. Gregory A. Pierce of Papillion, NE; 6 great-grandchildren, Laura, Michael and Christopher VanCamp; Jack and Miles Pierce; Benjamin Hart; 3 nephews.
