Exelby, Elizabeth Edna (Alexander), age 77, of Davison, formerly of Lapeer, passed away, surrounded by her family at University of Michigan Hospital on July 2, 2024. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Trinity Methodist Church, 1310 N. Main Street, Lapeer, Michigan 48446, where a luncheon will follow. The family will greet family and friends from 10:00 AM prior to the 12:00 PM service at the Church. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may direct contributions to Trinity Methodist Church. Elizabeth was born on November 24, 1946 in Hillsdale, Michigan to Jesse and Virginia (Halfman) Alexander. She graduated from Quincy High School, class of 1964. Elizabeth graduated from Fort Wayne Business College. She married her high school sweetheart, Robert Jerry Exelby. Elizabeth retired after 42 years, as the manager of Lapeer County School Employees Credit Union. She and Robert dedicated many hours to the credit union. They loved helping and talking with the credit union members. Elizabeth was a member of Lapeer Trinity Methodist Church for over 50 years where she was a treasurer for the Trinity Christian Women’s Group and helped in the Church office. She and Robert square danced with the Lapeer Square Stompers for many years and enjoyed the lifelong friendships that developed. Elizabeth loved Theater and had season tickets to The Whiting and Meadowbrook Theater. She enjoyed playing cards, gardening, and shopping. Elizabeth was passionate about making sure others were remembered. Her cards she sent and the phone calls she made were a daily part of her life. She loved her family and enjoyed her grandchildren immensely. Elizabeth attended many of her grandchildren’s sporting events and school activities. She enjoyed traveling and boating with family. Elizabeth is survived by her daughter: Jody (Mark) Baldridge Sr. of Davison; grandchildren: McKenzie Jo Baldridge and Mark Baldridge Jr. both of Davison; brother John (Delores) Alexander of Quincy, Michigan, sister Joanne (William) McConnell of Colville, Washington, sister-in-law Robin Alexander of Kalamazoo, Michigan and many wonderful nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert and her brother, David Alexander. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuenralhomes.com.
