Elinor Wells

WELLS, Elinor June (Kersten) - Age 92, of Fenton, died June 22, 2019. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday, June 28, 2019 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Pastor Mark Cox officiating. Burial in Oakwood Cemetery, Fenton. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday from 1-4 and 6-8 PM. Those desiring may make contributions to Alzheimer Association.

Elinor was born February 1, 1927 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Herbert Carl and Leita G. (Quinlan) Kersten. She was a 1944 graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School and received a bachelors degree from Western Michigan University in 1948. She married William Coyte Wells on August 29, 1953 in Kalamazoo and he preceded her in death April 3, 1990. She moved to Fenton in 1957. Elinor had worked for Michigan Bell Telephone for 6 years and then was the bookkeeper for Guns Galore for many years.

Surviving are: sons, William Coyte Wells, Jr. and Jeffrey Carl Wells; grandchildren, Damian (Paula) and Derek Swigert, Jessa and Nicholas Wells, and Mason and Maddon Wells; great grandchildren, Ella, Courtney, Teoni, Kewna, and Estella; and several nieces and nephew.

She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Kay Swigert; sisters, Beverly and Barbara. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
