Eleanora Pearl SLATER

SLATER, Eleanora Pearl, age 87, of Woodhaven, formerly of Fenton and Detroit, passed away peacefully Friday, October 14, 2011. Funeral services will be 12:00PM Monday, October 17, 2011 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Deacon Ron Kenney officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Linden. Visitation will be Sunday 4:00- 8:00 p.m. and Monday 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Eleanora was born September 9, 1924 in Provident, Ohio. She married William Slater on April 15, 1944 and he preceded her in death on June 10, 2007 after 63 years of marriage. Eleanora was employed in the factory supporting the WWII effort. She was also employed by Awrey Bakery as a cake maker and later by Canteen Inc. She was devoted to her spouse and family, which was more important to her than anything. Eleanora was preceded in death by her only 2 sons, William H. and Richard A. Slater. Surviving are their wives, Gwen M. Slater and Linda Slater; 5 grandchildren, William A. and wife, Heather Slater of Kingsley, Bonnie and husband, Art Murray of Alma, Jason and wife, Lorrie Slater of Fenton, Brian and wife, Heather Slater of Fenton, Michael Slater and wife, Michelle of Fenton; 8 great-grandchildren, Artie, Donovan, Megan, Jacob, Tyler, Shelby, Eric, Ashton.
