Eileen Mccomb

McCOMB, Eileen Rose, age 91, of Flint MI and Orange Beach, AL, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2023 at South Baldwin Medical Center in Foley, Alabama.  Eileen was surrounded by friends and family who were in the area visiting.

A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Sharp Funeral Home, 8138 Miller Rd. Swartz Creek.  Eileen's family and friends are invited to gather from 12 Noon until the time of service.  If desired, memorial contributions may be made in Eileen's name to the "McComb Ballyard", care of Napoleon Schools, 200 West St., Napoleon, MI 49621.

Eileen was born on October 28, 1931 in Flint, MI, the daughter of William Thomas and Rhoda (Thomas) Bowden.  She married the love of her life, Robert L. McComb Sr. in 1950.  Eileen and Robert were Junior High sweethearts. He preceded her in death in 1985 after 35 years of marriage.

Eileen went on to work for many years for the Genesee County Friend of the Court, retiring from there. Afterwards, she worked for Sports Creek Raceway in different capacities.

In her younger years, Eileen enjoyed bowling, water sports, camping, and especially attending her children's, grandchildren's and great grandchildren's sporting events. She was a Detroit Tigers and Lions fan, and a baseball fan in general, right up to her death.

Eileen is survived by her son, Robert L. (Helene) McComb Jr.; daughter, Cindy (Pharis) Cole; brother, Arthur Bowden; grandchildren, Jamie Bell, Julia Vacha (Jeff), Erin Hull (Jake); great-grandchildren, Chance Foster (Madison), Cameron Spohn (Alexia), Cayden Spohn; William and Andrew Vacha, Nyah and Jack Hull, Gavin Cole; great-great grandaughter, Estelle Rose Foster; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

Special thanks to special friends, Beth Misenheimer and Thomas and Margaret Ulmer for all that they have done for our Mother throughout the years.

In addition to her husband, Eileen was also preceded in death by her daughter, Cathy Bell, son-in-law, Jim Bell; grandsons, Robbie and Nicholas Cole; sister, Iris Smith; brother, Norman Bowden; and many friends and neighbors.
