Edwin Richard SCHMOCK Jr.

SCHMOCK, Jr., Edwin "Rich"ard - On Monday afternoon, Edwin "Rich"ard Schmock, Jr, passed away peacefully at his home in Lapeer. He leaves behind his loving wife of 45 yrs., Sally Helcher-Schmock; 4 children, Scott, Timothy, Jennifer (Brice) Slater and Chief Petty Officer Brian Schmock; 2 siblings, Eric (Marilynn) Schmock and Yvonne (Darrell) Craw; and beautiful granddaughter, Mckayla. Rich served honorably in the U.S Navy for two years and retired from Cadillac of Grand Blanc after 30 years. In 1993, Rich was in an automobile accident which left him paralyzed. With the help from family and an outstanding staff of professional nurses, Sally provided excellent care to him at home where he lead a long and fulfilling life. Rich is preceded in death by his Mother, Arline Bommer and Father, Edwin R. Schmock, Sr. A memorial service will be held at Faith Lutheran Church in Grand Blanc on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Donations may be made to honor Rich to the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation to further research in spinal cord injuries.
