Goodrich, Edwin Donald - Age 96, of Flushing, died June 8, 2019. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, June 14, 2019 at the Calvary Apostolic Tabernacle, 1013 Hughes Ave., Flint. Interment in Flint Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the church 4-8 PM Thursday, June 13 and 12-1 Friday, June 14. Arrangements are being handled by Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint. Edwin was born January 17, 1923 in Jasper Township, Ohio, the son of Vernon Goodrich Sr. and Ella (Bandy) Goodrich. Edwin served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was awarded a Purple Heart and four Bronze Stars. He retired from General Motors having worked at Buick and then Chevy Truck. He was a past member of the First Apostolic Church of Mt. Morris having served as a deacon for many years. He was currently a member of the Calvary Apostolic Tabernacle. He sold Peanut Brittle for the church for many years and was know as the Candy Man at GM. Edwin enjoyed skating, skiing, was an avid gardener and participated in the Senior Winter Olympics. He enjoyed traveling with his family and spending winters in Florida after retirement. Surviving are: Daughter, Karla (Mark) Marion of Flushing; grandchildren, Robert Stamm, Eric (Faith) Stamm, Kelsey Marion; great-grandchildren, Celeste, Kirsten, Devon, Eli, Audrey, Anna, and Issy; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Coletta; siblings, Winifred Goodrich Walworth, Vernon P. Goodrich Jr., Dorothy Goodrich Jackman, and Ruth Goodrich Hammel.
