ZABLOTNY, Edward John, Jr. - age 88, Fenton, died February 9, 2022. Funeral services will be held 12 PM Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton, MI 48430 with Fr. David Harvey officiating. Interment will follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, MI. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at the funeral home where a VFW Memorial Service will be held at 7 PM under the auspices of Fenton VFW Curtis Wolverton Post 3243. Ed was born September 27, 1933 in Buffalo, NY, the son of Edward and Mary (Fronckowiak) Zablotny, Sr. He attended Canisius High School and graduated from Indiana State University. Ed served in the U.S. Army from 1954-1956. He married Lucille Pucko on June 20, 1956 and she preceded him in death on March 4, 2018. Edward worked in the chemical industry for Stauffer Chemical, Ruminant Nitrogen, Drug Research and Great Lakes Chemical where he was Plant Manager, Director of Safety, Responsible Care and Waste Minimization. He retired to Cleveland, TN and was active in the Knights of Columbus, where he was the Grand Knight and Faithful Navigator, and the American Legion and VFW. Later he moved to Fenton to be closer to family. Surviving are: four children, Cathy (Roderick) Shovan, Dr. James (Jennifer) Zablotny, Carol (Robert) Zablotny and Patricia (Edward) Beckmann; one granddaughter, Megan Filhart; brother, Dr. Floyd Zablotny.
