VanKeuren, Edward Merrick  age 66, of Flushing, died Tuesday, March 1, 2005 at Avalon Hospice. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday, March 4, 2005 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Pastor Neal Pridgen officiating. Interment will be held at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-9 PM Wednesday and 2-4 and 6-9 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Arthritis Fund. Mr. VanKeuren was born June 20, 1938 in Flint, the son of Edward M. and Marion N. (Dimock) VanKeuren. He had resided in Flushing since 1970 coming from Flint. Mr. VanKeuren was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He retired from the Flint Police Department as a Detective Sergeant in 1981 after 20 years of service. Mr. VanKeuren was a member of Corunna Road Baptist Church, Flushing VFW Post # 5666, Flint DAV Chapter #122 and Flint FOP Arrowhead Lodge #126. Surviving are: daughter, Elizabeth and husband, Joseph Hall of Swartz Creek; granddaughter, Lindsay Hall of Swartz Creek; three sisters, Doraine and husband, Donald Fyfe of Flint, Mary Anderson of Flint, Sherry and husband, Danny Davis of Lapeer; brother, Terry VanKeuren of Gaines; many nieces and nephews; friend, Bertha Saulnier of Flushing.
