Edward Thompson

THOMPSON, Edward O. - Age 85, of Irons, formerly of Rankin, died Monday December 6, 2021. Funeral services will be held 1PM Monday December 13, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Entombment will follow in Crestwood Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held  2PM - 8PM Sunday and 11:30 until time of service on Monday at the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to the American Lung Association. Edward was born July 26, 1936 in Cullman, AL, the son of  William Ellis  and Ruby Pauline (Stocks) Thompson. Mr. Thompson retired from Michigan Bell as a cable splicer with 40 years of service. Edward enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and especially loved being with his family and grandchildren.  Along with his wife Sharon, Edward was a member of the Swartz Creek Squares, Square Dance Club. He also was a member of the Rankin Lions Club a proud CWA member with Michigan Bell and a Usher at his church, Mundy Presbyterian in Rankin as wellas being a member of Irons Union Church. Surviving are: wife of 64 years, Sharon of Irons; children, Laurie (Robert) Wallace of Flint Twp.,  Kimberly (Frank) Thompson- Millay of Swartz Creek, Michael Thompson of Flint Twp., Brian Thompson of Flint Twp.; grandchildren, Ian, Jameson, Jacob, Seth, Justin, Cassidy, Devin, Jarrett, Lynnsey; great grandchildren, Ethan, Delila, Benny, Karmen, Winter and soon to be Lucas. He is also survived by his brother, Ronald (Gwen) Thompson of AL and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Pauline Thompson.
