Edward William STURGIS

STURGIS, Edward William - Age 84, passed away peacefully Friday, May 7, 2010 at his home in Marathon, FL. Mr. Sturgis was born January 24, 1926 in Linden, MI, the son of Duane and Florence (Cooper) Sturgis. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific. He retired from B & M Cartage and was a member of Teamsters Union Local 332, and retired to Cheyboygan, MI. Edward was a beloved husband, Father and grandfather. He is Survived by wife, Beatrice (Chapman) Sturgis; his six children, Phillip Sturgis, Richard Sturgis, Julia Steele (husband Stuart ), Garold Lee McDill, Krista Sturgis and Amy Sturgis; six grandchildren, Matthew Steele, Gary Alvarado, Jami McDill, Joshua McDill, Brian Steele and Chloe Machala; sister, Maxine (Sturgis) Matthews; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Private services will be held. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Diabetes Association or to a Hospice of your choice.
