SCHATOW, Edward S. - Age 83, of Lake Fenton, died Friday, February 9, 2007 at Crestmont in Fenton. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11AM Monday, February 12, 2007 at the Chapel of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adalaide St., Fenton with Rev. Fr. David Harvey celebrant. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery. Veterans honors will be performed under the auspices of Fenton VFW Curtis Wolverton Post #3243. Vigil service will be held at 5PM Sunday at the Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton where friends may call from 3-5 and 7-8:30PM on Sunday. Mr. Schatow was born in Detroit June 21, 1923 and had lived in Fenton since 1953. He married Helen Rose Dalka in Detroit April 10, 1948. He retired from General Motors Fisher I as a Crane Operator with many years service. Mr. Schatow was a Veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army as a Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne and was a Prisoner of War for 10 months. He was a member of the Fenton VFW Curtis Wolverton Post #3213, The Fenton Eagles and St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Surviving are: wife, Helen Rose; 2 sons, Thomas of Fenton, and Daniel and Victoria Schatow of Argentine Twp.; and 3 grandchildren, Chris, Bryson and Andrea; and 1 brother, Vernon Schatow of Warren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, William.
