EVANS, Edward (Ed) - Age 88, of Fenton, Michigan, passed away on January 15, 2017 at his home. A memorial service will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton, MI. 48430 on February 4, 2017 at 1:00 pm. Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon and service to follow. Edward Evans was born November 16, 1928 in Harrisburg, Arkansas to Chester and Flossie Evans on November 16, 1928. He went to Dye High School and graduated in 1947. He went on to enlist in the Army in the 1950's and was stationed in Germany. Ed was a self-made man who liked to dip his hands into many different business ventures such as Evans Brothers Construction alongside his brother Alfred Evans and later partnered with Larry Maleski to create Midwestern Construction Company. Ed loved to read and traveled internationally. After retiring, he spent his winters in Port Charlotte golfing. Edward is survived by: his daughter, Linda Waider (Michael); sister, Sandra Pruett (Stanley); brother, Alfred Evans; granddaughters, Bethany Merrill (Randy), Kelly Waider (Justin) and Sarah Norton-Bakaian (Michael); great grandchildren, Dale Merrill-DeFrance, Dakota Waider, Destiny Waider, Anastasia Norton-Bakaian, Justin Weigold, Jr. and Draygen Bakaian; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Evans; parents, Chester and Flossie Evans; and sister, Alberta Snell. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105.
