Edward C. EMERTON

EMERTON, Edward Charles - Age 83, of Linden, died Thursday, January 6, 2011 at Avalon Hospice. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Monday, January 10, 2011 at Linden United Methodist Church, 201 S. Bridge St., Linden. Rev. Donald Neuville will officiate. Visitation will be held 1-4 & 6-8 PM Sunday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden. Those desiring may make contributions to the Linden United Methodist Church. Edward was born August 10, 1927 in Bad Axe, MI the son of Angus H. and Ida (Taylor) Emerton. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the WWII era. Mr. Emerton married Janice Childs on November 15, 1952 in Flushing. He retired from General Motors/Buick Motor Division in 1988 with 39 years of service and was a proud member of UAW Local#599. He was a member of Linden United Methodist Church and The Oddfellows. Surviving are: wife, Janice; children, David Emerton, Daniel (Rosemary) Emerton, Denise (Richard) Ray; grandchildren, Betsy, Chrystal, Kelly, Anne, Daniel, Bradley, Karen, Cheryl and Erin; great-granddaughter, Ava; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Delmar, Louis "Bud", Lula Mae Clark, William "Bill". Tributes may be posted on the obituaries page of www.sharpfuneralhomes.om
