Edsel Mayberry

Mayberry, Edsel Virgil - Age 88, of Grand Blanc, died Wednesday, May 15, 2019. Funeral services will be held 6:00 pm Friday, May 17, 2019 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint. Visitation will be held 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm Friday at the funeral home. Graveside Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, May 18, 2019 at St. Athanasius Cemetery in Harrison, MI. Those desiring may make contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital . Edsel was born October 18, 1930 in Hornersville, Missouri, the son of Virgil Mayberry and Nellie (Hare) Mayberry. He married Dollie Van Hoosier on September 12, 1950 in Detroit; she preceded him in death September 24, 2009. He retired from Parke Davis Pharmaceuticals in Rochester, MI, following 37 years of service. Edsel loved traveling, his dogs, tinkering with cars, and he especially loved his family. He is survived by his children, Keith Mayberry, Valerie (Don) Brinker, and Larry Mayberry; grandchildren, Tina, Tammy, Jay, Josh, Jenny, Keith Jr., Victoria, Jonathan, and Clinton; eleven great-grandchildren; sister, June Shaffer; brother-in-law, Dan Hanners; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dollie (Van Hoosier) Mayberry; two sisters, Ruth and Virgie; daughter, Virginia Sutherland; and great-grandson, Jared Sutherland.
