Edgar Hurd

HURD, Edgar Allen - Age 82, of Byron, died April 9, 2018. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Durand Church of the Nazarene, 9725 E. Monroe Rd., Durand. Pastor Michael McCarty will officiate. Visitation will be held 2-4 & 6-8 PM Friday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden and from 10 AM until the time of service Saturday at the church. Those desiring may make contributions to Durand Church of the Nazarene. Edgar was born March 16, 1936 in Detroit, the son of Byron and Viola Marie (Johnson) Hurd. Mr. Hurd retired from General Motors (Fisher Body). He loved steam engines, railroads and antique cars. He enjoyed spending time at his place in Cheboygan, boating and fishing. Edgar is survived by his wife, Arlene; daughters, Fay (Bill) Johnston and Heather (Greg) Lantz; grandchildren, Koen and Ashtyn; brothers, Wendell (Chris) Hurd and Lionel (Sharon) Hurd; many nieces, nephews and his cat, Rusty.
